Madame Zingara
This restaurant's deep purple star-studded exterior would be more at home in a children's fairy story than in conventional Loop Street, and crossing the threshold could well be compared to Alice stepping through the looking glass into Wonderland. The interior is full of surprises with distinctively different dining areas to choose from. The front parlour with its rich dark walls covered with an eclectic mix of artwork, offers intimate dining in delightful surrounds. The main section of the restaurant is reminiscent of a large Italian country kitchen complete with wooden table and pasta machine. Tables are strewn with rose petals and lthe overall effect is warm and inviting. |

Poplars Restaurant
This eatery is set against the lush backdrop of the Durbanville Hills, nestled as it is between vines in this increasingly sought after country-styled haven. Innovative restaurateur Jaques Botha has created yet another unique and refreshing food and wine masterpiece. Poplars specialises in the global cuisine arena with a definite flair and feel of fine dining. The interiors have been carefully planned and designed (a close collaboration between interior designer Francois Du Plessis and Jaques Botha himself), to comfortably exude elegance and warmth. Definite assets are the two fireplaces, which bring welcome relief during the blustery winter months. Through careful planning the restaurant utilises the full wealth of the farm's space with the creation of wonderful outdoor venues as well. In the fair summer months guests who prefer a more relaxed and informal lunch setting can enjoy its outdoor barbecue (spitbraai) area.

Blue Danube
This brings diners a waltz of flavours and fresh ingredients. The name refers to chef/patron Thomas Sinn's Austrian roots - the venue is a Victorian townhouse, its blue broekie lace a foretaste of the interior's intense blue. With each dish picture-perfect, it's no surprise that Thomas is the artist whose exuberant oil paintings brighten the walls. |

Ginja & Shoga
Situated in the trendy Bo-Kaap district of Cape Town, Ginja occupies the ground floor of an old two storey building. First impression of the interior is that it has an "old warehouse" feel with its high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. However, the rich red walls and art deco fittings combine very effectively to produce a French Brasserie look which is both intimate and inviting. After some thoughtful deliberation, "Ginja" was chosen as a suitable name for the establishment, based on the fact that root ginger is used extensively in both Eastern and Western cooking and effectively brings the two cultures together from a culinary perspective.

Vilamoura - Camps Bay
This highly acclaimed and award-winning Portuguese restaurant group from Johannesburg, has arrived in Cape Town! There is simply nothing to match the vista commanded by Vilamoura - Camps Bay beach lies literally outside the sliding windows on the restaurant's balcony. For sophistication on a European scale, the venue is matchless.
